Duke is Number One in AP Poll: Jan 21st, 2013

Duke makes a return appearance as the number one team in men's basketball, according to the AP Poll, replacing Louisville who drops to #5.

Duke gets back the number one ranking following a week in which they played just one game, a victory at home against Georgia Tech, 73-57. Louisville falls from the top spot with a win against Connecticut, 73-58 and a loss to then-6th ranked Syracuse, 70-68. Wichita State enters the Top 25 at #20 with a win at home over Illinois State, 74-62 and an upset win at home over then-12th ranked Creighton, 67-64. Cincinnati comes in at #21 with wins against then-25th ranked Marquette, 71-69 and DePaul, 75-70. Ole Miss shows up at #23 with wins against Arkansas, 76-64 and Vanderbilt, 89-79. Miami (FL) also enters the Top 25 at #25. San Diego State falls out of the Top 25 this week with an upset loss at home to UNLV, 82-75 and an upset loss at Wyoming, 58-45. Illinois drops out after a loss to Northwestern, 68-54. UCLA drops out after a win against Oregon State, 74-64 and a loss to then-21st ranked Oregon, 76-67. Marquette also drops out this week.
